During this time his responsibilities have included both technical and commercial management roles in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. During the past 10 years he operated as a private consultant and is registered as a specialist with the Plant Science Consultants Association. Johan is based in Piketberg and offers expert support for development, registration, market analysis, product positioning, distributor selection and technical service in the Western, Southern and Eastern Cape.

He is fluent in English and Portuguese and frequently operates throughout Southern Africa, Angola and Mozambique. Hans
Hans is an engineer in applied agronomy from an agricultural University in Germany. Since graduation in 1968 he has worked for several agrochemical manufacturers in the field of product development and registration. During his career he has been responsible for regulatory work for large multi-national companies in East Europe, CIS countries, Africa and more recently Asia. In the latter region he has excellent contacts in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, India, Pakistan, Malaysia Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. His experience also includes managing import tolerance programmes from these countries for vegetables and fruits to be exported into the EU, USA and Japan. Hans is currently based in Hong Kong from where he manages our network of national registration experts in the key Asian countries.

David
David has had a successful 28 year career in agricultural chemicals involving retail management, field sales and product development roles with a number of Australian and multi-national Agchem companies. Industry experience with commercial, technical, research and practical hands on experience in a wide range of horticultural and agricultural crops and biotechnology has provided a unique opportunity to develop a wide range of specialised skills within the agrochemical industry.
David operates as an independent horticultural and agricultural consultant, providing project co-ordination and management including undertaking Research and Development management of small plot replicated trials and co-ordination of commercial demonstration trials. The business provides technical training and support to distribution and farmers.

Hicham Bouchtia
Dr. Hicham Bouchtia, who joined APC in 2007, is the APC Registration Manager in Belgium. He has a strong academic background in Biology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology with more than 7 years regulatory experience working for Agchem multinational companies. He is involved in the preparation of overviews and dossiers for the registration of agricultural products, biocides and chemicals in Europe, Middle East and Africa plus giving advice to clients on registration requirements. He specializes in environmental risk assessments, Toxicology and REACH implementation issues.
Eric
Eric started to work with APC in 2010, offering various services in the scope of Regulatory. He has an MSc in Chemistry and has strong experience in the Regulation of Phyto Pharmacetical Products, which he gained working for 8 years for Multinationals Agchem Companies operating in EU-27, Middle-East and Africa. Whilst Eric specializes in the chemistry aspects of the Regulation, he coordinates and prepares dossiers for registration of active substances at EU level (so called Annex II dossier) and dossiers for registration of PPP at national level (so called Annex III dossiers).
Jon
Jos is an Agronomist with a Post Graduate degree in Marketing and has been involved in various commercial roles in the Agchem Industry for many years. He has been working in both US and European Multinational companies within Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. Jos has an excellent knowledge of the main European crop protection issues including development, marketing and food-chain issues as well as having hands-on experience in a wide range of Agchem segments including horticultural and high value agricultural crops, Biocides and Biotechnology. He has a deep and extensive knowledge of the industry and provides a variety of specialized Agchem support.
Bulgaria
Hristo
Hristo is a medical doctor who has a very strong background in toxicology and ecotoxicology. Between 2003 and 2007 he worked for the Bulgarian authorities dealing with plant protection products and biocidal products where he was involved in the checking and evaluation of submitted dossiers. He has a deep knowledge of the European regulatory framework. Hristo now provides scientific support in the fields of toxicology, ecotoxicology, residues and risk assessment, also managing registration services for the PPP and biocides industries.
Cyprus
Petros
Petros has been involved in agriculture for some 40 years specialising in weed science for most of this time with the Agricultural Research Institute in Cyprus. He has worked as a consultant on many International projects during this time including work with the FAO and several of the multinational Agrochemical companies mostly in the Middle East. He has published extensively in scientific journals, co-authored several books on weed management and is multilingual. He has an excellent knowledge of development and marketing issues and can support most Agchem projects in Cyprus and throughout the middle east.

Miloslav
Miloslav worked for a long time for a US multinational agrochemical company in the field of development, including conducting field trials, managing registration & regulatory affairs, creating labels and preparing dossiers for both field crops and forestry. He has also recently managed trials with new compounds for several European and US companies. In total Miloslav brings more than 30 years experience of plant protection activities in the Czech and Slovak republics.
Stanislava
Stanislava has an MSc. in Entomology from the Charles University and is currently finalising her Ph.D. thesis at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. Stanislava coordinates with the registration authorities in SK and CZ and will work together with 2 other colleagues providing APC with development and registration support in both Czech and Slovakia.
Josef
Josef is a professor at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, with extensive knowledge of the local agricultural situation, including development and registration of pesticides. Josef will have a key advisory role in Czech and Slovakia, where he will be working closely with both Miloslav and Stanislava.

Matthieu Becle
Mathieu is a Registration Specialist who graduated with an MSc degree in agronomy from the Ecole Nationale Superieure Agronomique de Toulouse in 2004 and since then has worked in several positions in the agricultural sector before joining APC in 2008. In particular, he has been responsible for establishing quality control norms and procedures in 2 major fruit co-operatives in the south of France. Mathieu therefore has good practical experience of the importance of pesticide regulation on the production of high quality agricultural produce.
Laurence Bosc-Guillosson
Laurence is a chemist by profession and has 11 years experience working in laboratories and Regulatory Affairs groups for both a large European generic producer and since 2003 as an independent consultant closely affiliated with APC. She is bilingual in French and English and has now gained considerable experience working with the registration authorities in France, UK and other European authorities.
Marie-Noêlle Douaiher
Marie-Noêlle is a biologist with practical experience of the AgChem industry, gained during her undergraduate placements in the Lebanon. She received her PhD in phyto-pathology in France, where her research work was focused on cereal diseases. She has been involved in a wide range of projects, including Annex III dossiers, generic registrations and study management since joining APC in 2006. She is now extending her expertise to include specialisation in ecotoxicology and project management. Marie-Noêlle is fluent in French, English and Arabic.
Peter
Peter has broad regulatory and project management experience from 14 years in leading regulatory positions in a major agchem company and several years as member of the ECPA registration project team. During the past five years he developed and managed the European and AME business of a US biotech company before starting his own company as a regulatory consultant. Having dealt with European matters from the beginning Peter has an intimate knowledge of the European registration procedures and requirements, and a successful track record of developing and implementing registration strategies for conventional and non-conventional plant protection projects.
Jean-Pierre
Jean Pierre is an entomologist with 25 years experience working in major European and US agchem companies. He has an outstanding knowledge of all crop protection issues, including research compound screening, product development, technical support, promotion and preparation of biological dossiers. He also has considerable hands-on experience with marketing issues, especially product positioning, opportunity analysis and distributor evaluation.
Steve W Shires
Steve spent 25 years in research, development, regulatory and marketing managerial positions in both European and US multinational agchem companies. Since 2001 when he created APC, he has been managing technical consultancy companies as well as opening new offices in 5 European countries. He has a very good knowledge of the European plant protection business plus extensive first-hand experience of regulatory affairs, product development, market opportunity analysis and distributor selection. Steve now heads the company in France offering project management, all aspects of regulatory affairs, development and market support.
François Walker
François is an agronomist with regulatory experience in a multinational agchem company in France. He has a master’s degree in plant protection and has worked in the area of the integrated pest management in vineyards. Since joining APC in 2007, he has managed a wide range of projects for synthetic and natural agchem, including Annex III dossiers, mutual recognitions and study co-ordination.

Bernd has 17 years experience of technical product development with US and Japanese multinational agchem companies and as a free consultant. This includes product development, registration and marketing support. In addition to conventional chemistry, he has experience of bringing alternative (“softer”) plant protection products to market. Bernd’s major focus is planning and managing technical product development projects from identification of market opportunities to the preparation of "core" biological dossiers to be used in several EU countries.

Basil
Basil is based in Athens and has spent thirty five years working for major US companies throughout Southern Europe, Africa and M. East. He has been involved with establishment and follow up of field experiments, the management of development and marketing activities and the market introduction of Fungicides, Insecticides and Herbicides. Basil also has a wide knowledge of crops and their pest problems as well as procedures for registration and market analyses of pesticides.

Neny worked for Greek companies for 10 years, being responsible for regulatory affairs (registration, labelling, packaging, advertising) of plant protection products. Since 1997, she has been a free-lance registration specialist for several local and international companies.

Jószef began his career in an Hungarian phytosanitary and soil conservation institute, where he reached the position of deputy director, before joining the private sector. In the last 20 years, he has worked for European and US multinational companies in both technical and commercial management positions. Edward is an agronomist who has worked for many years as the head of registrations at IOR, Poznan, Poland. As a result, he has an excellent knowledge of the Polish registration system and knows most of the key decisions makers in the national institutes and bodies. Kati Pikulik graduated from university with an MSc in agronomy. Before becoming a full time APC employee, she has for some years been working on the registration of plant protection products and managing efficacy trials in Poland. In her new role as Registration and Office Manager of APC Poland sp.zo.o., Kati represents the company for all regulatory, development and technical activities and advice in Poland.

Irene
Irene worked as a University teacher before taking a position in the Portuguese branch of a US multinational agchem company, as a staff member for R&D and registration department.
On 1995, she founded the first agchem contract research organisation in Portugal, being until recently the Head and Technical Manager of the company. She has a good knowledge of the regulatory affairs at European Level, with the main focus concerning Portuguese matters, and a high level of experience on R&D at field level. Irene offers a global portfolio of services for PPP companies, from project management to regulatory affairs and field trials.

Nenad has a Ph.D. degree in Plant Pathology from North Carolina State University and an MBA degree from Marquette University. He spent thirteen years working at Zeneca Ag Products, Monsanto, and Sumitomo Chemical Company as a Research and Development Manager and Regulatory Affairs Manager in the United States and France. His other interests include Business Development and Registration in Eastern Europe. Manel ORPELLA
Agronomist with more than 20 years of wide experience in development and regulatory affairs in agrochemicals and biocides in Southern Europe, mainly Spain, Portugal and Italy, and also North Africa (mainly Morocco and Tunisia). Since 2006, he has managed a technical consultancy company in Spain linked with APC. Manel has wide experience in the development and registration of plant protection products, including project co-ordination in collaboration with international CROs. Manel offers project management, regulatory affairs (including contacts with local authorities) and development.
Turkey
Hikmet
Hikmet is an agricultural engineer with more than 30 years experience in the crop protection sector, in governmental organizations, extension services and world class agrochemical companies. He has held technical and regulatory managerial positions in the latter for more than 20 years. During his professional life he has managed more than 100 product registrations in Turkey, many of them specialties still serving the Turkish farming industry. He has the benefit of excellent professional training in crop protection and various other important disciplines like toxicology, marketing, field trial management and quality control. Hikmet is based in Istanbul and can provide a first class service for all regulatory work on crop protection products in Turkey.
Tumay
Tumay is an agricultural engineer with almost 30 years experience of plant protection in Turkey. He started his professional career in the Cotton Research Institute but since 1980 has worked for multi-national agrochemical companies in various technical and crop management positions. His knowledge of pesticides, crops, pests, weeds and diseases is outstanding. Tumay, together with his close associates, can offer expert advice and support for all development, regulatory and marketing projects in Turkey.

Dave
Dave has over 35 years experience in the environmental fate, ecotoxicology and risk assessment of chemicals. He has a wide breadth of knowledge of agrochemicals from a career in several major agrochemical companies, namely Shell, ICI, FBC, Schering, AgrEvo and Aventis and has either contributed to, or managed, environmental regulatory programmes for a range of plant protection products. In 2000 he formed an environmental consultancy group, CEA, within ADAS in the UK, providing risk assessment research for government, and regulatory support for industry, involving biocides , veterinary and human pharmaceuticals and REACH. In 2007 he became an associate of APC.
Karen BAKER
Karen Baker has many years of experience in regulatory affairs and managerial positions. Her experience has been gained both in industry and consultancy. She is a registration generalist with experience in all areas of dossier submission. Karen has a focus on European regulation, but also has experience of submissions globally. She has project managed and written Annex II and Annex III dossiers and has taken these through the review process to successful registration. She also has experience working with Task Forces for data generation and shared dossier submission.
Alison
Dr. Alison works as a freelance Toxicology consultant in the preparation of documentation for various international Regulatory programmes. Previously she has worked for the UK Health & Safety Executive as a Regulatory Toxicologist, preparing and appraising industrial chemical hazard and risk assessment documents produced under the ESR, OECD, NONS, EU Classification & Labelling and Pesticides programmes of work, serving as project manager when appropriate.
Oliver BILLENNESS
Oliver is a graduate in chemistry from Bath University, UK. He is located in the APC Wetherby office, where he is specialising in REACH pre-registration and making some very valuable contributions to our pre-SEIF programmes. As well as providing ongoing technical support for the REACH activities, he is working on some Agchem and biocide projects.
Kevin BROWN
Dr. Kevin Brown has a PhD in terrestrial ecotoxicology. Before joining APC, he has worked as an ecotoxicologist for a research based multinational agrochemical company, managed his own contract research ecotoxicology company and worked for an international regulatory consultancy. Kevin has excellent experience, particularly with higher tier terrestrial ecotoxicology field studies, ecological risk assessments and dossier writing for agrochemicals.
Heino CHRISTL
Dr Heino Christl is a bilingual (German/English) biologist with a PhD in aquatic ecology. Prior to joining APC, he has worked as an ecotoxicologist for a research based multinational agrochemical company, a contract research company and an international regulatory consultancy. He is experienced in study management, risk assessments and dossier writing for agrochemicals and biocides.
Julie DODD
Julie Dodd, is a biologist and has broad experience in providing regulatory services within the agrochemical industry. Julie worked for over 5 years in a large Indian generic agrochemical company where she gained considerable experience in Europe. Julie was responsible for project management, managing global registrations, preparing dossiers and specific molecule management. Prior to Regulatory work, Julie started as a microbiologist and then progressed to Study Director for a large UK utility company, where she was responsible for study management to the offshore oil industry.
Annie
Annie has spent 17 years as an ecotoxicologist working for a European agrochemical company, a government agency and contract research laboratories. She has extensive experience of aquatic and terrestrial ecotox testing as a study director and in management with particular expertise in semi-field, aged-residue and large scale field studies. Annie now works as a consultant in ecotoxicology.
Michael HALE
Mike Hale has considerable experience as a chemist working in regulatory affairs, having previously been employed by a large UK agrochemical company as a registration specialist and manager. He has managed registrations globally, with a focus on Europe. Mike is experienced in all areas of dossier writing for Directive 91/414 with a focus on Annex III re-registrations, product chemistry, hazard classification and environmental fate modelling. He has also worked with industrial task forces for data sharing and dossier submissions.
Tom HOLMES
Tom Holmes, a BTS and Eurotox Registered Toxicologist, provides advice on toxicology programmes, unusual findings in toxicology studies, writes cases and opinions for consideration by regulators, and drafts toxicology sections for dossiers. Tom's advice and input has helped accelerate products to market, defend existing products, and prevent product recalls. He has 10 years experience as a toxicologist for the UK Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD, now the Chemicals Regulation Directorate, CRD), and more recently, 4 years experience with a CRO in chemical and pharmaceutical regulatory affairs.
Mike
Mike has almost 30 years experience in toxicology and monitoring human exposure to Agrochemicals. After a 9 year period working as an analytical chemist in industrial and Public Analysts laboratories he joined ICI Central Toxicology Laboratory in 1979. He has extensive experience in pre-development and regulatory metabolism and toxicokinetics studies and was responsible for the design and management of human volunteer and field exposure studies. Since 2002, Mike has acted as an independent consultant to major Agrochemical companies on human safety assessment and has reviewed toxicology dossiers and overviews for submission to regulatory authorities.

Alan has 30 years experience in the crop protection and public health sectors. He has worked for several multinational companies in both Europe and the USA. He is currently an independent consultant based in the UK, but operates in Europe and internationally. Services offered by Alan include project management, team/task group co-ordination, product development, and registration.
Graham POULTON
Graham has several years experience in the agrochemical industry, having previously been employed at one of the World’s largest Contract Research Organisations. Graham is a graduate biologist, with broad experience in the registration of pesticides in the EU, including a sound working knowledge of all areas of the registration dossier. He has experience of working with and making submissions to many EU regulatory authorities. In his previous role, Graham specialised in Efficacy and production of Biological Assessment Dossiers, having successfully completed the UK BASIS Course in Crop Protection.
John WEETMAN
John holds a degree and PhD in chemistry from the University of Leicester. He has previously worked for 19 years for a multinational specialty chemicals company, initially as a research chemist but then for 10 years in a variety of regulatory positions. In such roles he was responsible for the classification of products for supply and transport, the notification of new substances / risk assessment, dangerous goods management and training and in his latter roles in assisting 3rd party clients in their preparations for REACH and delivering training in the requirements of GHS. John has also worked for a leading environmental consultancy delivering REACH services to clients and more recently for a leading manufacturer of additives for lubricants and fuels where he was engaged in SIEF and Consortia activities in support of the pertinent REACH registration obligations. Throughout these varied roles he has developed expertise in a number of different industry sectors, represented the chemical industry on a number of trade association working groups, made presentations at a number of international forums and has forged positive relationships with the regulatory authorities.
Phil WHEELER
Phil Wheeler spent 11 years as a formulation scientist working for British Petroleum where he was involved inter alia in agrochemical formulation development. He has been working exclusively in agrochemical registration and formulation development for the last 15 years, 12 of those years as an independent consultant. He has extensive experience of registration requirements particularly in the UK and Ireland but also in other areas of Europe. He has worked for APC based in the UK since 2006.
Mark WHITTAKER
Dr Mark Whittaker is a biopesticide specialist with extensive experience in the commercial biocontrol industry. He worked for several years for the world leader in biological crop protection, and is a founding member of the UK International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association. In this capacity he has worked to develop improved regulatory frameworks for novel crop protection products, championing pragmatic and cost-effective solutions to regulatory problems.
Ukraine
Vladimir
Vladimir is a specialist in agricultural chemistry, soil science and crop management (nutrition and plant protection) with particular expertise in both outdoor and greenhouse vegetables. He has a wide knowledge of Agri-markets in CIS countries, particularly the Ukraine. He is multilingual and has product management experience for both Agchem products and seeds. Vladimir can offer professional support for all Agchem projects in the Ukraine, whether these include technical, marketing and/or finding effective market access.
